    Shelridge Country Club Golf Course Superintendent Position is located in Medina, New York. It sits on 120 acres and opened in 1959.  Shelridge Country Club offers just over 6,600 yards of professionally manicured fairways, bunkers, and greens.

    Position Summary:
    Golf Course Superintendent is a key member of our team and is responsible for golf course grounds needs.

    Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

    • Must possess the ability to design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping on the golf course
    • Must possess the ability to create spray programs for the golf course including greens, tees, fairways and roughs
    • Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course operations
    • Ability to give oral and written instructions
    • Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching, and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation
    • Provide technical, operational, and safety training for employees to ensure that staff is working within OSHA, club safety and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
    • Must be dependable

    Some responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Maintains clean and organized works areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
    • Mow greens, approach, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas
    • Water tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
    • Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed
    • Ability to identify and complete areas for small drainage work
    • Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways
    • Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
    • Administers and enforces all Club rules, regulations and policies for staff
    • Supervises and controls all maintenance expenses associated with Golf Course Operations
    • Develops annual operating budget and plans for maintenance and capital improvement projects
    • Perform other duties as assigned and ability to Find new tasks for yourself and crew.

    · Diagnose and repair equipment issues.

    · Supervision, scheduling, and training of staff

    · Pesticide, fertilizer and spray recorded in general with detailed record keeping

    · Irrigation system operation and repair

    · Daily course set-up / monitor course conditions

    · Daily course maintenance, yearly aerification program

    · Assist in planning and execution of various projects

    · Disease scouting

    · Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defect

    Requirements:

    · Minimum 2 year’s golf course maintenance experience with a working knowledge of irrigation repair, equipment operation, and fertilizer/pesticide application

    · Possess or obtain New York State pesticide applicator’s license

    · Valid driver’s license

    · Experience with supervision of staff

    · Individual must be self-motivated

    · Certificate, 2- or 4-year degree in related field (preferred)

    · Strong communication skills required

    · Individual must be hands on and ready for any task

    · Understand the game of golf

    · Have a flexible schedule

    Salary: $45,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year
