2nd Assistant Superintendent Position
The Country Club of Buffalo is a private club that was established in 1889 with the current 18-hole, Donald Ross design opening in 1926. The club sits on a 270 acre property that also includes: four tennis courts, two paddle tennis courts, outdoor pool facility, and a large sporting clays complex. The golf course underwent a complete restoration in 2012 and is currently ranked in the Golfweek top 100 classic list. The installation of a new Rain Bird irrigation system will begin this fall.
The 2nd assistant superintendent position is an entry-level management position that involves all aspects of golf course management. Daily tasks will include course setup, water management, pest identification and management, irrigation repair, project planning and management, tournament preparation, and team leadership. We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual to join our team which currently consists of three assistant superintendents and up to 35 full and part-time staff members.
Educational Requirements
An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in turf management or a related field is required.
Experience Requirements
One year of golf course management experience is required. Experience related to water, pest, and project management is preferred. Knowledge of the golf of game and the ability to play is also preferred.
Special Requirements
Must possess or be able to attain a NYS pesticide license within 90 days of employment.
