Assistant / Golf Course Superintendent in Training

The Golf Course Superintendent will be retiring after the 2022 season and we are looking for an assistant to work with and transition to become the next Golf Course Superintendent. The ideal candidate would have an education in Turf Management and have experience as an assistant or second assistant and be mechanically inclined.  The Seneca Falls Country Club is an 18 hole Semi private golf course located in the heart of the Finger Lakes. Greens, tees and fairways are a mix of bent / Poa and the irrigation system is a double row Rain bird Stratus II decoder system. The equipment is mainly John Deere.

Educational Requirement:     Education in Turf Management, consideration given to those students graduating in 2022.

Experience:     All experience levels considered. Should have some mechanical ability.

Job Description:         Individual will work with the Superintendent in all phases of golf course management. The individual will also set the course up for daily play, apply pesticides periodically as needed and be involved with irrigation scheduling and service. Individual will operate all equipment as needed, and will perform some service and maintenance to the equipment.

Comments:     Successful candidate will go through 2 interviews, one with the Supt and one with the board of directors. We are looking for an individual who is interested in staying and working at Seneca Falls for several years. Cost of living is low compared to other parts of the state and the climate is moderated from the influence of the Finger Lakes and Great lakes.

Salary:             $20.00 + per hour to start, future salary to be negotiated.
