                                    Assistant Superintendent

Club Description:

Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club is a semi-private golf club located between Rochester and Syracuse New York overlooking Sodus Bay. Established in 1924, the par 72 is a Geoffrey Cornish design of approximately 6700yards. The course is equipped with a fully automatic double row Rain Bird irrigation system.

Requirements:

At least two years of golf course maintenance experience.

A certificate, associates or bachelor’s degree in turfgrass management or a related field is preferred.

A NYS pesticide applicator license is preferred. Training to attain a license may be provided.

Strong mechanical repair ability is a plus.

Background with operation and repair of irrigation systems is also preferred.

Job Description:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

 Assisting the Superintendent with leading and scheduling staff while accommodating the golf schedule

 Setting and maintaining the irrigation system

 Applying fertilizers and plant protectants

 Leading renovation projects

 Leading tree removal jobs

 Daily mowing, raking, and course set-up.

The Assistant will have full responsibility in the absence of the Superintendent. 

The position is at least 8 months per year, typically from March 15- December 1.

Compensation:   $25-$28/ hour   Health Care Stipend, IRA Contribution, Golf Privileges
