Orchard Park Country Club
Asst. Irrigation Technician/Spray Technician
History
Orchard Park Country Club was founded in 1916 originally as Park Country Club in Orchard Park. Park Country Club then built another course in the current location in Williamsville. In 1946 the members in Orchard Park leased the golf course from Park Country Club for 5 years and later purchased. It was renamed Orchard Park Country Club. Orchard Park Country Club has 4 tennis courts, one swimming pool, and a clubhouse.
The original golf course was designed by Walter Travis. The original layout stayed intact until 1994 when 2 holes were built, 1 renovated, and 2 holes removed (#17 & #18). The project was done to move the practice facility near the Proshop/Clubhouse for accessibility. In 2000 #18 was renovated and in 2013 all the bunkers were renovated along with 2 major green expansions. In 2014-15 OPCC built a new state of the art 1000 sq. ft. 1500 GPM MCI pumphouse complete with irrigation parts storage and workspace. In 2018 #1 green was rebuilt to USGA specifications.
OPCC is currently working on a Clubhouse Expansion Project. Any projects on the golf course are from a Golf Course Master Plan that was designed in 2004. Most items have been completed except some upgrades to the Grounds Department facilities and a new irrigation system. Beginning in August of 2022, we will be installing a new Toro Irrigation System with Leibold Irrigation, Inc. The system was designed by Tim Fredericks of Fredericks Mcguire Ltd., which also designed the pumphouse. The irrigations system was designed with future golf course improvements in mind.
