Overview
Seneca Falls Country Club is an 18 hole semi private golf club overlooking Cayuga Lake in the heart of the Finger Lakes. The original 9 holes was built in 1925 with the second nine added in the 60's. The course offers a mix of old construction with small greens and tight bunkering with more modern larger greens. Several holes offer rolling terrain and great views. Multiple ponds are located throughout the course and two holes are cut through the woods, Cart paths run the entire length of the course. The goal of the club is to have the members and guests play an enjoyable round of golf and want to return often.
Position
The Golf Course Superintendent is retiring after this season and the Seneca Falls Country Club is looking to hire his replacement.
The Superintendent is entrusted with the maintenance and management of the golf course as well as managing labor, ordering materials and supplies, and operating the Rainbird automatic double row irrigation system.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years experience in Golf Course Maintainance. NYS DEC Pesticide license or able to attain one. Some mechanical experience helpful Knowledge of the operation of Rainbird irrigation systems.
Responsibilities
Maintain the golf course to provide quality and enjoyable playing conditions.
Communicate with the proshop daily on course conditions and maintenance.
Manage the staff of employees that include full-time, retirees, and students.
Apply fertilizer and pesticides in a timely and proper method.
Maintain and service the equipment and work with a mechanic as hired.
Report to the Greens Committee and Board on course conditions, projects, and equipment.
Salary
$48,500-$52,000- Seasonal 10 month position
