ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
About the Club: Bellevue Country Club is the premiere private club in Syracuse, NY. The club was founded in 1914 and features a stunning clubhouse and golf course designed by legendary architect Donald Ross. It has stood the test of time and remains an iconic piece of history in the City of Syracuse.
Educational Requirements: Associate degree or higher in turf management, agronomy, or related field preferred. A certificate from an accredited program and 3 years of work experience, or a similar combination is also acceptable.
Work Experience: Experience in fertilizer and pesticide applications, irrigation repair and maintenance, and snow plowing is preferred, but not required. Experience in all aspects of daily golf course maintenance including, but not limited to mowing, rolling, hand watering, daily golf course setup, and possess good communication skills.
Position Details: This is a full-time, year-round position. Maintaining all areas of the golf course and club grounds in the best possible condition every day is our top priority. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and other ground staff on all aspects of construction, maintenance, agronomy, and management. Daily staff management, planning of day-to-day golf course maintenance, tournament prep, staff training, and other management duties are the requirements of the position. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is willing to work overtime and weekends, when necessary, be a self-starter, and have a strong desire to learn and grow.
Special Requirements: Possess a NY State Commercial Pesticide Applicators license, or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
Desired Starting Date: January 2024
Salary: $60,000-$65,000 DOE

Dues to national and local golf course superintendent’s associations are paid by the club. BCC will also pay expenses related to the upkeep of employees’ N.Y. state pesticide applicator’s license, as well as for educational seminars and continuing education opportunities.
