The New York Golf Course Foundation (NYGCF) is a nonprofit established in 2018 to promote sustainable golf management efforts in New York State with an emphasis on protecting water quality. This nonprofit grew out of the New York State Best Management Practices (BMPs) project, which began in 2012 and established the New York State Golf Best Management Practices (BMPs). Operating via donations from clubs, golf associations and state grants, the foundation works together with Cornell University, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation and lawmakers to create educational programs, fund research and promote golf’s commitment to the environment.

The New York Golf Course Foundation (NYGCF) seeks an Executive Director (ED) to lead our growing nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable golf course management and protecting water quality across New York State.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all operations, finances, fundraising, marketing, and strategic growth of NYGCF. The ED will build partnerships, enhance our public image and execute projects fulfilling our mission of environmental stewardship through golf.
We are looking for an innovative and driven leader to optimize non-for-profit performance. The ED will expand our reach, improve financial results and administer our mission-focused programs. The ideal candidate has not-for-profit management expertise, business acumen, strong communication abilities and a passion for our cause.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Board on governance, policy, fundraising, and visibility
- Lead strategic planning and implementation
- Oversee annual budgeting and financial management
- Serve as primary spokesperson and relationship builder with stakeholders
- Fundraise and develop new revenue streams
- Oversee marketing, communications, and public relations
Requirements:
- Knowledge in Golf Course Management
- Experience in Association Board governance
- Budgeting, analysis, and financial reporting skills
- Ability to convey vision, strategy, and organizational mission
- Relationship building entrepreneur with drive and strong work ethic
Compensation:
- Compensation is currently at $20,000 per annum
- Time commitment can vary but averages 10 hours per week
- Ample room for growth of salary through fundraising and new revenue streams
