                This is a Full-Time, Year-Round position. The Assistant Superintendent will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent and assist with all facets of daily maintenance, planning and managing of grounds staff. Irondequoit Country Club is a private full-service country club including an 18- hole golf course, pool, tennis, paddle and pickle ball facility. The golf course is a 1916 Donald Ross design and is considered one of the premier courses in the Rochester area. Currently ICC is undergoing over $3million dollars of capital improvement projects to the club and golf course. Construction of a new practice facility started in the Fall of 2023 and will be completed in the spring of 2024. We are planning for a full bunker renovation, as part of the project, in addition to new irrigation, tee and green expansions and extensive tree work over the next 5 years.

    Along with being heavily involved in the planning and executing these projects, the Second Assistant Superintendent will uphold immaculate golf course conditions. The club has hosted multiple championships including the Nationwide Tour Xerox Classic, NYS Amateur championship, US Open and USGA qualifiers and will also host the RDGA District Championship in (2024).

    Job Responsibilities include:

    •        Chemical and Fertilizer applications to all areas of the Course

    •        Irrigation troubleshooting and repair

    •        Tree removal

    •        Managing grounds staff

    •        Managing moisture on all surfaces

    •        Assisting with cultural practices

    •        Evaluating conditions and planning for future weeks, months.

    •        Assisting with daily maintenance operations

    •        All other assignments as directed by management.


    Educational Requirements:

    • Upcoming or recent certificate or 2-to-4-year turf program graduates are encouraged, but not necessary.
    • Experience Requirements:
    • Previous internship or maintenance experience is preferred


    Special Requirements:

    •        Must posses or obtain a NYS pesticide license within 6 months of employment

    •        Valid Driver's License
