Golf Course Superintendent Position

Thendara Golf Club is an 18- hole championship semi-private golf course nestled in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. Known for its natural beauty and classic Donald Ross design, the course offers players a challenging yet rewarding experience surrounded by stunning mountain views, mature forests, and the serene Moose River.
As Superintendent, you’ll have the opportunity to maintain and enhance a course that is often recognized as the best golf course in the Adirondacks. The property boasts meticulously cared for greens, fairways, and tees, a modern Rainbird irrigation system, and is in the process of putting together a five-year plan to further improve the property.
The golf course is run by a board of directors and currently has a full healthy membership with a waiting list. The Superintendent will work closely with the Greens Chairman and General Manager to continue providing excellent conditions and service.
The golf season at Thendara Golf Club runs from the first Saturday in May through Columbus Day. The short golf season provides a great opportunity to continuously improve the property.
Compensation:
Base Salary: $80,000 to $95,000

Job Requirements:
The Superintendent will report directly to the Board of Directors/Greens Chairman and oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance to include, but not limited to:
- Budgeting/Record keeping
- Pesticide/Fertilizer Applications & Record Keeping
- Irrigation Scheduling/Reporting
- Equipment Maintenance/Replacement
- Attend Regular Board Meetings
- Employee Hiring/Training/Safety
Requirements:
- At least 3+ years in golf maintenance as an Assistant or Superintendent
- Certificate or turf degree preferred
- NYS Pesticide Applicator License
- Strong Communication Skills
- Proven ability to lead
