Monroe Golf Club is a Donald Ross designed, private, 18-hole facility, established in 1923. Monroe Golf Club consists of 350 golf members and 140 social members. The golf course is an integral part of the overall member experience, as 30,000 rounds are played annually. A new golf course maintenance facility was constructed in 2020. A new Toro Turf Equipment package arrives in the Spring of2025.
Turf Equipment Manager description and responsibilities
Preventative maintenance and repair of all golf course and grounds equipment
Inspect, diagnose, and repair of diesel, electric, and gasoline equipment
Welding and fabrication
Maintain accurate and thorough maintenance records
Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe work area
Purchasing of replacement parts, shop supplies, and accessories
Possess a proactive, preventative mindset relative to equipment maintenance, minimizing downtime while maximizing productivity
Proficient in diagnosing and repairing Tier 4 engines
Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance relative to the seasonality of operations
Proficient in the use of email, excel, and word.
Ability to work within a given budget
Physical work involves kneeling, bending, stretching, and lifting objects of 50 pounds
Communicate with turf management team effectively
Create a positive, approachable environment that is conducive to all management and staff throughout the club
Experience Requirements
Working knowledge turf equipment, heavy equipment, small equipment and automotive
Reel and rotary blade sharpening, grinding, and (daily) adjustment
Ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace
Skilled in the use of equipment repair and diagnostic tools
Knowledge of the theory, maintenance, and operation of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems
Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate resolutions
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to multitask remaining poised in any situation
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with turf managers, full-time, and seasonal staff alike
Ability to train staff relative to equipment safety, operation, and procedures
