Radisson Greens located in Baldwinsville NY, is a Robert Trent Jones designed semi-private golf course developed and opened by New York State in 1977, the course has since been owned by a private ownership group and is one of the premier golf courses in the Central New York. The 18-hole golf maintains its classic Robert Trent Jones design and the course measures 7,010 yards from the championship tees, bunkers, ponds, driving range and putting tee practice areas. The Golf Course Superintendent serves as the leader and director of the Golf Course Operations, facilities, grounds and reports directly to the owners. The Superintendent is an integral member of the property's management team and oversees the maintenance and agronomic practices of the golf course and adjacent grounds, including the clubhouse landscaping. The course employs a full-time mechanic that oversees the repair and maintenance of all golf course related equipment
Educational Requirements
- College degree is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of management and maintenance of greens, fairways, and roughs.
- Knowledge of use and operating standards of equipment and tools used in golf course construction and maintenance work.
- Skill in recruiting, supervising, training, monitoring, evaluating and motivating personnel.
- Interpersonal skill to resolve conflict and work with supervisors, employees, members, and the public.
- Knowledge of safe use, mixing and application of chemicals and commercial products.
- Knowledge of the game of golf, golf rules and methods of play.
Ability to anticipate personnel, equipment, and material requirements related to golf course maintenance and repair assignments
Experience Requirements
· 2-5 years’ experience as a Golf Superintendent or 1st Assistant
· GCSAA Member preferred, but not required.
· Valid Driver's License
· Knowledge of budgeting and expense management
· New York State Pesticide Application License
· Knowledge of local, federal, and state laws and regulations affecting management of golf course operations.
· Must be highly organized and efficient with high attention to detail.
· Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
