We are currently looking to fill the role of Head Turf Equipment Manager. This position will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and take some direction from the Assistant Superintendent. Our maintenance facility was constructed in the late 1990s and features many modern amenities. We have an equipment lift, modern grinding equipment, a fleet of newer Toro mowing equipment and a warm well-lit workspace with plenty of room.

    Requirements:

    • Working knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair, specifically golf course and lawn care equipment. This includes small engines, larger gas engines, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems.
    • Prior experience setting up, adjusting, and grinding reel mowing equipment is a plus. We are willing to train the right person.
    • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, have a positive attitude, be willing to learn, and be a team player that takes pride in their work.
    • Must be able to take both verbal and written directions.
    • Must be able to work short weekend and holiday shifts.
    • Prefer that the candidate has their own tools, but it is not a necessity. Tools will be provided, if needed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement an effective preventative maintenance program to reduce the likelihood of mechanical failures.
    • Keep proper records of all maintenance and repair activities.
    • Set mowing heights, adjust bedknives, and properly sharpen all reel mowing equipment.
    • Order parts, necessary supplies, keep track of expenses, and work within a budget.
    • Maintain a clean and organized shop.
    • Follow all state and federal guidelines as it relates to hazardous material storage and disposal.
    • Perform other duties on the property as assigned by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.

    Compensation:

    • $30 - $36 per hour, 40+ hours per week, full-time, year-round position.
    • Compensation provided for personal health insurance expenses.
    • 401k retirement plan.
    • Paid local and national association dues.
    • Compensation for continuing education.
    • Golfing privileges.

Resume can be sent to Mike Armstrong, Golf Course Superintendent
