    The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and management of the golf course grounds and related landscapes. This includes turf management, staff supervision, budgeting, equipment maintenance, and ensuring optimal playing conditions throughout the season.

    Compensation range  $90,000- $110,000

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan, supervise, and execute all maintenance practices on the golf course including mowing, fertilization, irrigation, aeration, and pest control.
    • Lead and manage the grounds maintenance team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
    • Oversee operation and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.
    • Develop and manage the turf care operating budget, including forecasting labor, materials, and equipment expenses.
    • Ensure all agronomic practices comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
    • Collaborate with management to plan and execute golf events, projects, and course improvements.
    • Monitor course conditions and adjust maintenance strategies accordingly to ensure high-quality playing conditions.
    • Maintain accurate records of pesticide and fertilizer applications, water usage, and equipment service.
    • Engage in continuing education to stay current with best practices, technology, and regulatory changes.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree or certificate in turf management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive golf course maintenance experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
    • Valid pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain one.
    • Strong knowledge of agronomic practices, pest/disease identification, and turf equipment.
    • Experience managing irrigation systems (manual and automated).
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with cool-season or warm-season grasses (customize for your region)
    • Project management experience (e.g., bunker renovation, drainage installation, or turf conversion)

    Working Conditions:

    • Outdoor work in various weather conditions
    • Physical demands including lifting, standing, bending, and operating machinery
